Vintage 70s Towle Sterling Silver Reversible 4 Calling Birds Pendant / Ornament

This is truly a year-round piece!  During Christmas it is a reversible tree ornament depicting four calling birds. It's one of the Twelve Days of Christmas and was created by the legendary Silversmithing house of Towle in 1974. During the remainder of the year it can be worn reversed showing the Modernist stars, thanks to the 24" sterling silver cable chain.

Three Modernist 4 pointed stars of varying sizes on the other side with elongated diamond shapes making up a frame around the edge

~CONDITION:
Excellent vintage condition. Bordering on 50 years old, one can only imagine what kind of Christmas celebrations this beautiful piece has seen! It came quite tarnished and was polished very selectively. The star side was completely polished; the 4 bird side was polished only at the high points of the birds' breasts and the flower clusters to create the most drama - whether being worn or being hung on your tree!
